The sting of the whip,
Welcome relief to the knowledge
That the one to whom I was closest
Chose to turn his head and heart away from me
At the very moment that I needed him most,
My suffering, my pain, unwelcome reminders
Of a promise made in a happier times.
There will be wailing, and gnashing of teeth,
But I will be cleansed by the light of day,
And you entombed in the darkness.
